Professional Development Events

Designed to increase the awareness on the uses and advantages of technology to improve education. Participants are exposed to key theoretical approaches, interactive sessions, and practical experiences. Events include both face to face workshops and online sessions.
 
PDE Brokerage Services

Access to training opportunities through partnerships with other members at special rates for HETS members, while supporting its institutions in marketing their own services.
 
Roundtable Discussions

Special events designed to increase institutional awareness on the uses and education-related advantages of technology. Through these discussions, members participate in productive dialogues on the use of technology to improve their educational practices and student support strategies. They also create opportunities to assess current technology use, propose alternatives, and negotiate possibilities on technology implementation.
 
Online Tools and Resources

Members-only section in the HETS website with exclusive access to tools, collaboration resources, online resources, and publications.

Testing and Education Reference Center

Available at no cost to members’ faculty, staff, and students, TERC provides college entrance test practice and Internet search options for college and career programs. It also includes access to electronic reviews for nursing, military flight aptitude, and postal clerk tests, among others. In addition, it has features to help users write and organize their resumes for an effective career search.
 
Collaboration Tools

Interactive tools that will facilitate collaboration between faculty members, students, and corporate members. These tools serve as a communication medium in both asynchronous and synchronous ways, and foster the social interaction between members working on special projects, papers, or seminars. Students can also work in learning communities.
 
Publications

As part of its efforts to increase awareness on the uses/advantages of technology to improve education, support and effective use of technology, and disseminate best practices and common interests, HETS has launched a series of publications that reach more than 8,000 representatives and contacts.
